WILLIAMSBURG — BurgQuest, a family-friendly festival celebrating board games and role-playing games sponsored by the City of Williamsburg Oct. 10-12, has officially announced the full program lineup for the event.
Highlights announced earlier this year include “The Fantasy Tavern,” an interactive musical show from New York City, a “Mario Party Live” adaptation of the Nintendo digital tabletop game, a cosplay contest and historical combat demonstrations from Virginia nonprofit Virago Alley, and multiple “actual play” role-playing game theater performances.
Voice actors Sarah Elmaleh (Fortnite, Hi-Fi Rush) and Noshir Dalal (Critical Role, various Star Wars roles), who will lead industry workshops on voice acting and motion capture performance, were also announced during the initial programming release.
Additional programming just announced includes performances by “Cyanwoode,” described as an instrumental duo infusing fantasy-tavern flair into Celtic and Irish traditional music, as well as original, new arrangements of video game music favorites. A documentary film screening of “The Hobby: Tales from the Tabletop,” and performances from “Symphony of Destiny,” a Symphonic Metal band from Richmond featuring mythology-based original music, including some covers from famous Symphonic Metal bands.
There will also be a “BurgQuest Marketplace,” where attendees can talk gaming with a variety of vendors and organizations, including local Williamsburg game store, Tap N Roll, additional panels, workshops and more.
BurgQuest will take place at the Sadler Center on the campus of William & Mary. Both day and weekend passes are available to purchase for this event.
