NEWPORT NEWS — Local authors will have a chance to showcase their work through the city’s library.
Newport News Public Library is now accepting applications until July 31 for the Local Author Showcase at the Main Street Library.
The Local Author Showcase is part of Local Author Week, which takes place from Nov. 5 through Nov. 10 at the Newport News Public Library.
During the weeklong event, community members, writers and authors will have the chance to meet local authors, buy books, get autographs, participate in panels and enter giveaways, according to a news release from the city.
In order to apply: authors must reside in the Hampton Roads area, your book must be available in print and must be able to be sold at the Local Author Showcase.
