NEWPORT NEWS — The city is giving residents a chance to make a parcel of land here more attractive.
The Newport News Green Foundation recently acquired less than a half an acre of land at 5101 Huntington Ave. and is taking submissions for how to best use the land.
The Foundation aims to preserve, transform and promote green spaces throughout the city, according to its website. So far, it has preserved 21 parcels of land in the city.
An online survey is available for the public to their share ideas with the Foundation on how to use the land on Huntington Avenue.
Some of the previous uses of preserved Foundation land include walking trails and small gardens.
