
HAMPTON — A new Boys and Girls Club is coming to Hampton.
The Boys and Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula will hold a grand opening at 5 p.m. on May 7 in Buckroe.
This will be the 14th branch for the Virginia Peninsula.
The club has been open since April 16, according to a news release from the Boys and Girl Club. The branch already has 120 member registrations.
Mayor Donnie Tuck will lead the ribbon cutting.
The Buckroe branch is equipped with various technology, games and learning opportunities, according to the news release.
Newport News Shipbuilding has provided laptops and technical assistance to the branch’s computer lab and has also provided funding for STEM programming.
