Police searching for two men in connection with Newport News home invasion

NEWPORT NEWS —  Police are searching for two suspects in a home invasion on Henry Clay Drive.

On April 18, a man broke into a home on Henry Clay Drive at 11:43 a.m., according to a news release from police.

The suspect pointed a gun at the resident, a 53-year-old man, and demanded money then asked another man to come in, who also had a gun.

The second suspect held the resident at gunpoint while the other searched for money, police said.

During the incident, a struggle took place and the resident “was struck with the firearm,” according to the news release. The suspects made out with an undisclosed amount of money and the man’s wallet, police said.

The resident was able to run out the back door.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identities and whereabouts of the suspects to call Crime Line at 888-LOCK-U-UP.
