Authorities are investigating after shots were fired in a residence the 100 block of Little Bay Avenue in York County, the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

A 17-year-old male called to report two people had entered his home by force around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Deputy Shawn Kekoa-Dearhart said. He also said that shots were being fired into his residence.

Before deputies arrived on scene, the two people also fired shots at the victim’s vehicle and fled the area in a black sedan, Kekoa-Dearhart said.

The victim said he recognized the people who broke in, but has refused to share any identifying information, authorities said.

“The victim is being uncooperative so we’re going to have to take the evidence we have and talk to more neighbors to find out if anyone saw anything else,” Kekoa-Dearhart said. “Right now, it is believed there are two suspects, but we are looking into the possibility that there might be more.”

Authorities do not currently know the gender or age of the suspects and will continue canvassing the area.

The investigation is ongoing.
