The James City County Rotary Club Concert Series is back for another year.

The ninth annual, five-series event kicks off on April 14 with The Michael Clark Band, an eight-person ensemble with vocals and arrangements of R&B, blues, soul, rock, jazz and funk tunes, according to a news release from the Rotary Club.

On May 19, the second show will spotlight Brasswind, with nine musicians who recreate classic horn-band sounds of funk, soul, R&B, blues, Motown, rock and beach music, according to the release.

The third concert, on June 30, will showcase Bobby “BlackHat” Walters,  a recording artist, musician, vocalist and songwriter who has been playing blues harmonica for more than 40 years. He’ll perform classic, modern and original tunes.

The Rhondels will perform on July 28. The Rhondels have performed in the past with The Eagles, The Beach Boys, Blood, Sweat & Tears and Jimmy Buffett.

Closing out this year’s series on August 25 will be Bill and Pam Gurley with Fiddlesticks, joined by Jack Cowardin and Bobby Hornsby. A local quartet, they’re known for their renditions of folk, bluegrass and original tunes.

All shows will be at the Kimball Theatre.

Tickets for the five-event concert series are $80 and are available through Susan Harmon, 617-447-4283, or from any other JCC Rotary Club member.

Individual performance tickets are $20.00 and are available at the Kimball Theatre box office, 428 W. Duke of Gloucester St.
