The College of William & Mary announced Grammy-award winning hip-hop artist Ludacris as the headline performer for the 2015 Charter Day concert.

The three-time Grammy award winner will take the stage at William & Mary Hall at 8 p.m. Feb. 7. Singer-songwriter Andy Grammer will open the show.

Tickets will go on sale for the concert 9 a.m. Jan. 19, and can be purchased at the Tribe Tickets Office in William & Mary Hall or online at TribeAthletics.com. Orders can also be placed by phone at 757-221-3340.

Ticket prices range from $15 for students with a student ID, $25 for faculty and staff with a discount code, and $30 for the general public. Prices will increase at the door by $5 for students and $10 for all other patrons.

One of the most influential artists to come out of the “Dirty South” genre, Ludacris emerged on the hip-hop scene in 1999 with his debut album, “Incognegro.” He won two Grammy awards in 2007, for Best Rap Song with “Money Maker,” and Best Rap Album for “Release Therapy.”

His ninth studio album, “Ludaversal,” is scheduled for release March 31.

Ludacris has also achieved crossover success as an actor, most notably for his appearances in the “Fast and Furious” film series and the 2004 film “Crash,” which received the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Charter Day weekend celebrates the day William & Mary received its royal charter in 1693. The annual concert was added to the event in 2011, headlined that year by hip-hop/neo soul band “The Roots.” Subsequent performers have included Third Eye Blind, Ben Kweller, Gavin Degraw and Wiz Khalifa.
