Arrests Made in Last Nights Breaking into Vehicles Call for Service

Two arrests were made in response to vehicles being broken into (Provided by the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office)

YORKTOWN — On March 12, at approximately 3 a.m., York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Yorkshire Downs Apartment complex, located at 101 Little Bay Ave., for a report of males that appeared to be breaking into vehicles in the parking lot.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said that the citizen who reported this activity also described the vehicle that the suspects were driving.  The two male suspects were seen leaving the area in a dark colored sedan. Deputies quickly located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the Pines of York apartment complex.

According to the police, the two male suspects were located, and during the course of the deputies’ investigation, two semi-automatic pistols were located in the vehicle that were reported stolen from neighboring jurisdictions. The deputies also located property stolen from a vehicle at Yorkshire Downs apartments. Both male suspects were taken into custody and arrested.

The two arrests were Justin Eugene Ketter, age 21, from Chesapeake, and Zykion Torique Arnold, age 20, from Norfolk.

The Sheriff’s office says that both suspects were charged with the same offenses:

  • Possession of Burglary Tools – Felony
  • Possession of stolen firearms- Felony
  • Wearing a mask in Public- Felony
  • Petit Larceny – Misdemeanor
  •  Damage Property less than 1000 dollars damage – Misdemeanor

The sheriff’s office adds that suspects are currently in the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.

The investigation is continuing, and additional charges are pending.
