WILLIAMSBURG— Riverside Health has announced a leadership transition at Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg, naming Stacey Johnson as the hospital’s next president.

Johnson succeeds Adria Vanhoozier, who has been promoted to a new system leadership role as vice president of system financial and operational integration.

Vanhoozier has served as president of Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg since 2016, overseeing clinical expansion, operational improvements and financial growth while strengthening care for the Williamsburg community.

“Adria has provided exceptional leadership at Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg and has helped strengthen the hospital’s commitment to high-quality care for the Williamsburg community,” said Mike Oshiki, president of Riverside Regional Medical Center and Riverside Health’s acute care division.

As vice president of system financial and operational integration, Vanhoozier will work with leaders across Riverside’s hospitals, medical group and service lines to align operational and financial priorities and support strategic growth initiatives. The role will also help advance Riverside’s operational excellence efforts and strengthen collaboration around budgeting, cost management and performance improvement.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the team at Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg and to work alongside such dedicated colleagues,” Vanhoozier said. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together to serve the Williamsburg community, and I look forward to collaborating with leaders across Riverside to strengthen integration and support initiatives that enhance care delivery for the communities we serve.”

Johnson currently serves as hospital president of the Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center and will assume leadership of the Williamsburg hospital.

She joined Riverside in 2018 as executive director of the mental health center and became hospital president in 2020. In that role, she has overseen operations and strategy for the region’s dedicated psychiatric hospital while advancing the integration of behavioral health services within Riverside’s broader care system.

Johnson has more than 20 years of leadership experience focused on expanding access to behavioral health services and strengthening collaboration across health care systems. She holds a master’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in social work and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

“Stacey is a collaborative and mission-driven leader who brings extensive experience in hospital operations and behavioral health integration,” Oshiki said. “Her leadership will help guide RDHW forward as it continues serving patients and families throughout the Williamsburg community.”

“Riverside Doctors’ Hospital Williamsburg has a strong legacy of caring for this community,” Johnson said. “I’m honored to work alongside the physicians, nurses and team members who make that care possible every day, and I look forward to building on that foundation to continue delivering exceptional care for our patients and families who call Williamsburg home.”
