WILLIAMSBURG — Virginia Arts Festival announced Friday singer-songwriter and Nashville recording artist Celeste Kellogg will be opening for The Band Perry Saturday, June 21 at Williamsburg Live on The Lawn of the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg.
A local to the 757, Virginia Arts Festival describes Kellogg’s music as a mix of country with ’90s flair and a taste of ’70s rock. Songs include “Driving East,” “Gossip Queen of the South,” “Dirt Road Dancing” and more.
Kellogg will set the stage for Grammy Award winners The Band Perry, the modern country band behind the nine-time platinum No. 1 single “If I Die Young.” The band recently reunited with original band members Kimberly and Reid Perry, and adding Kimberly’s husband Johnny Costello.
June 20 will be headlined by The Concert: A Tribute to ABBA, featuring ABBA classics like “Mamma Mia,” “S.O.S,” “Money, Money, Money,” “Waterloo,” “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme” “Dancing Queen” and more.
The return of The Beach Boys and the “Sounds of Summer” tour closes out the weekend Sunday June 22.
“It’s going to be impossible not to have a good time with these pop culture legends,” said Virginia Arts Festival Executive Director Robert W. Cross said earlier this year. “And Williamsburg Live is like no other festival: the charm of the historic setting, the soft summer nights of coastal Virginia, and the nearby wineries, breweries and farm-to-table restaurant scene make this an unforgettable experience.”
Tickets for Williamsburg Live are on sale online at vafest.org, by phone at 757-282-2822, or in person at the Virginia Arts Festival Box Office on 440 Bank Street in Norfolk.
