WILLIAMSBURG— Naz’s Halal will be opening a location in Midtown Row, a franchise that specializes in halal casual dining with Mediterranean and Greek options.
The franchise location is being opened by Muhammad Abdullah (who moved here back in December), his father, and two other business partners, who also have other restaurants in the Maryland area. The group had been looking at Williamsburg for almost a year and found it a good place to open a location, given the area’s growth and the fact that there aren’t many halal spots.
Abdullah started working with Naz’s Halal at one of the restaurants back in 2024, prior to the business franchising. It was then that he decided it was a good business and that it was something he wanted to do.
“It was just family-owned, and they were giving new stores to their families, but I contacted the owner, and they were willing to give me one of their franchises,” said Abdullah about the experience.
Abdullah and his business partners have been working since last July on the location and are hoping to have the location open later in March.
“I’m just hoping that people love the food,” Abdullah said about opening the restaurant. “We’re just hoping that everybody loves our food and we’re here for the long term.”
The hours will be Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m., and then Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4 a.m. To keep up with the business, please check out the official Instagram page.
