Residents at Williamsburg Landing, a nonprofit continuing care retirement community, have had a busy summer so far!
Williamsburg Landing resident, Eleanor Walker, had a great birthday bash surrounded by her friends on her 101st birthday, which she celebrated recently. Miss Walker, one of Williamsburg Landing’s “First Settlers,” still resides in the Independent Living home she moved to when the community opened in 1987.
This month, Williamsburg Landing acknowledged the military service and sacrifices made by the resident veterans in commemoration of Independence Day. A special program was coordinated with Heartland Hospice Care for the veterans and their family members at the William A. Doig Health Club & Spa.
The event included a pinning ceremony for each of the 45 veterans in attendance.
The retirement community also recently donated 150 chairs to two local non-profit organizations– Community Services Coalition and Historic Triangle Senior Center.
