WILLIAMSBURG —William & Mary lacrosse head coach Colleen Dawson has announced the Tribe’s schedule for the upcoming 2023 season.
The exciting slate features 16 regular-season contests, which is highlighted by nine home games that will be played at Martin Family Stadium. Additionally, W&M will square off against three opponents that competed in the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
Four of the Tribe’s first five games will be played in Williamsburg, as it hosts Villanova (Feb. 11), Richmond (Feb. 15), Campbell (Feb. 25) and VCU (March 1). The lone road contest during the opening five-game stretch will be at Old Dominion on Feb. 22.
Following trips to Maryland (March 8), which advanced to the NCAA Semifinals last season, and Columbia (March 14), W&M will host Hofstra for its conference opener on March 18.
A non-conference matchup at Longwood on March 22 proceeds three straight league games – at Drexel (March 25), and home matchups with Delaware (April 1) and Towson (April 8).
The Tribe concludes its non-conference slate at home versus George Washington on April 12 before wrapping up conference play at Stony Brook (April 15), at Monmouth (April 22) and versus Elon (April 29). Stony Brook and Monmouth enter their first season as members of the Colonial Athletic Association.
The CAA’s top four teams will vie for the conference title and automatic NCAA Tournament bid on May 5 and 7 at Towson.
