Boys Basketball Roundup: Well-Rounded Scoring Effort Leads York Past New Kent

York HighYork High’s boys basketball team opened its season with a sound 82-63 victory over New Kent at home Wednesday.

Center Eric Harp led three Falcons in double figures with 16 points. Jaylen Riggsbee added 15 points in the win, while Joe Riddick tallied 14.

York (1-0) will travel to play Warhill on Friday.

Walsingham Runs Past Christchurch

Three players scored in double figures as Walsingham Academy breezed past Christchurch 68-38 at home Wednesday.

Transfers Richard Washington (Menchville) and Mark Seaman (Williamsburg Christian Academy) led the Trojans with 23 and 18 points, respectively, while returning senior Kai Brown finished with 14.

Walsingham will play Amelia Academy this Friday in the opening round of the Trinity Episcopal Invitational tournament.

Williamsburg Christian Academy Cruises in Conference Opener

Andre Brown led the way with 23 points and Xavier Green finished with 13 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds as Williamsburg Christian Academy defeated Denbigh Baptist 84-36 in the Metro Conference opener for both teams Tuesday.

Mike Duncan (12 points, six assists) and Danny Kean (13 points) rounded out four players in double figures for WCA, which improved to 2-1, 1-0 Metro Conference with the win.
