Postseason honors continue to roll in for Lafayette High’s football team, in particular defensive end Matt Hummel.
Hummel, who last week was named the 3A Colonial Rivers Conference 25 Defensive Player of the Year, awarded the same honor on the all-3A East Region team that was announced Monday.
In total, the Rams (13-0), who dominated Petersburg 49-8 last Saturday to earn a showdown with Western Albemarle in this weekend’s state semifinals, occupied nine spots on the all-region first team while Andy Linn was voted Coach of the Year.
Lafayette senior Brandon Villanueva-Pernell was voted to the offensive first team as a wide receiver and to the defensive first team as a defensive back.
