Four golfers carded rounds in the 70s as Jamestown cruised to its fifth-straight Bay Rivers District tournament victory at Ford’s Colony’s Blackheath Course Tuesday.
The Eagles, who were led by Trevor Tremps (74), Emily Salamy (74), Matt Meadows (76) and Christina Herbert (79), shot a season-low 303, which was more than enough hold off second-place Warhill (317) and Bruton (318). Jamestown improved its lead in the team standings to better than 50 strokes over second-place York with five more matches to play.
York junior Connor Rinoski led all golfers with a one-under 70 to earn individual medalist honors for the third time this season. The performance also dropped his season average to a co-district best 73.25 alongside Bruton’s Joey Monk, who turned in a 73.
Warhill’s Rob Borden finished runner-up with a one-over 72 while his teammate, Nathan Edwards, carded a 76 to help the Lions to their best team round of the season. Nick Beaulieu chipped in with a 78.
