Luncheon Talk with Author Leslie Tayloe

WILLIAMSBURG — The Chesapeake Bay Writers are hosting a special luncheon featuring Leslie Eva Tayloe, a children’s book author, on June 5.

Tayloe will discuss “What I learned from Marketing My Books.”

Tayloe is the author of “I’m Fishing with Pop-Pop Today,” “Save the Trees” (illustrated by Lintang Panda Pratiwi) and “Eduardo’s Attic Door.” She has also written an article titled “Marketing Group Helps Writers” for the April 2023 issue of Children’s Book Insider.

According to a Chesapeake Bay Writers press release, Tayloe is a former federal government analyst who is now substitute teaching for elementary school-aged children. She resides in Virginia with her partner, Michael, and their dog, Frankie.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada and a Master’s in Human Resource Management from the University of Maryland. She is a member of SCBWI, CBI/WriteForKids, Inked Voices, and the 12X12 Picture Book Community.

Chesapeake Bay Writers notes Tayloe was instrumental in forming the Kidlit At Heart Marketing Group.

The luncheon will take place on Wednesday, June 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Rocco’s Smokehouse Grill. The program will start with a social at 11:30 a.m. before food is served at noon. Tayloe will make her presentation at 12:30 p.m.
