WILLIAMSBURG — Aromas Coffeehouse Bakery and Cafe is introducing a new treat to their menu that offers a sweet start to summer while supporting women with breast cancer.

Aromas, located at 431 Prince George St. in Merchants Square, launched its new Ultimate Frozen Strawberry Smoothie on June 1 as part of its latest drink fundraiser.

From now until the end of August, Aromas is raising awareness and funds for Here for the Girls.

The local nonprofit works to improve the lives of women under 51 who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

According to the organization’s website, Here for the Girls specifically serves women under 51 as “young women face many different challenges because of their age and season of life than their more mature counterparts, challenges that can impact them far beyond diagnosis and treatment.”

Here for the Girls provides women with a network of online and in-person emotional support as well as services.

Some of these programs and services include annual weekend retreats, educational sessions with physicians, and other activities that are available at no cost.

This is Aromas’ most recent specialty drink fundraiser, following their popular lavender vanilla coffee smoothie they introduced for a limited time back in April.

The lavender drink was part of a fundraiser with William & Mary’s student-run organization For the Ribbons, which raises money for those who are financially suffering from medical debt across the country.

Michelle Sieling, co-owner of Aromas, said that the cafe successfully raised over $500 with the lavender drink for For the Ribbons.

Aromas now hopes to see similar success with the Ultimate Strawberry Smoothie for Here for the Girls.
