Construction at the Brass Tap of Williamsburg is underway in New Town, and still on track to open this fall.

The restaurant recently posted images on Facebook of the restaurant and bar under construction at 4904 Courthouse St., showing plumbing and wall frames freshly installed inside the space.

The bar — the first Brass Tap location in Virginia — will have 60 beers on tap and about 200 other craft beers available.

The posts have gathered attention from the local community, with several users asking when Brass Tap will open.

A page administrator confirmed the bar is still aiming to open in September, if all continues to go according to plan.

Brass Tap has also advertised that it will sell 32-ounce growlers when it opens, as well as have a “Brew Crew” rewards program for customers.

Brass Tap is based in Tampa, Florida and has more than 50 franchises across the country serving burgers, pizzas, salads and more.

Brass Tap owner Franklin Herring told WYDaily he planned to have television screens in the restaurant, one of which will show how much beer remains in each keg.

He also plans to have live entertainment.

Brass Tap will take up two storefronts in New Town, creating one 3,400-square-foot space with an outdoor patio.

Once construction is done, Brass Tap will need its final health and ABC inspections and permits.
