WILLIAMSBURG — Capt. Julio and Maj. Luci Da Silva, the husband and wife commanders of the Salvation Army of Williamsburg, will ring the bells at two Red Kettles for 12 straight hours with a goal to raise $24,000.

The two officers will collect money in the Salvation Army’s iconic Red Kettles starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21 at Walmart, 731 E Rochambeau Dr.

The money placed in the Red Kettles will go toward The Salvation Army of Williamsburg to help local families in need.

Capt. Julio and Maj. Luci Da Silva will be at two different doors with two Red Kettles for 12 hours.

“It’s a combined 24 hours,” Capt. Julio Da Silva said.

The annual Red Kettle Campaign raises money for families in need in the Historic Triangle each holiday season.

Donations can also be made online by texting 24hours to 51555 or by visiting Salvation Army of Williamsburg’s website.
