Eddie Gene Carnley (Vincent Funeral Home)

Eddie Gene Carnley, of Quinton, Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 28, 2026, surrounded by the family who loved him dearly.

Eddie Gene was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. His family meant so much to him, and the memories he created with those he loved will be treasured forever. Though his passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of those who knew him, his love, laughter, and memories will continue to live on through his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Carnley.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Onzie; his brother, Kenny; his two sons, Jason and Jamie; daughter-in-law, Summer; and his nine grandchildren, Colin, Jacob, Landon, Luke, Austin, Leighton, Cade, Colsen, and Cooper, who brought great joy and love to his life.

He is also survived by his former wife and mother of his sons, Donna Dowdy, as well as his longtime companion, Judy Duff, and her granddaughter, Hailey Campbell, who was also a cherished part of his life.

Eddie had a special love for Alabama football. Saturdays were made for cheering on his beloved Crimson Tide, and he took great pride in being an Alabama fan. Whether watching the game with family, talking football, or simply wearing his Alabama colors, his love for the Tide was a cherished part of who he was. Those memories—and all the “Roll Tides” shared along the way—will be remembered fondly by those who loved him.

Eddie Gene was deeply loved and will be missed more than words can express. His family will forever carry him in their hearts and cherish the memories of the time they were blessed to share with him. Until they meet again, his memory will remain a lasting reminder of the love and connection he gave to those around him.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, just prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Cemetery.
