Eric Douglass Baugh (Whiting’s Funeral Home)

On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, Eric Douglass Baugh, 76, answered the Master’s call and entered eternal rest at home with his wife, Cheryl, by his side.

His life began on March 15, 1950, the second born to the late Harold J. Baugh Sr and Rosetta Henderson Baugh. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold J. Baugh, Jr., sister, Marilyn Harris, uncles, Edward Henderson, Larry Henderson, and Harry Henderson, and aunts, Elnora Jenkins, Margie, Priscilla and Hazel Henderson.

Eric was educated in the York County Public Schools system, graduating from York High School Class of 1968. He worked for Anheuser-Busch, The College of William & Mary, and FedEx, retiring after many years of service. Most recently he retired from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.

Eric was an avid bowler, and he looked forward to the days of bowling with his cousins, Pat and Al Johnson, Aunt Jacquie, and cousin Aaron. If you knew Al Johnson, then you know there was a lot of trash-talking between them. He also loved hanging out with his grandpup, Brody, who was usually watching his favorite TV show, Andy Griffith, with him.

Eric is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Cheryl D. Baugh; stepson Tren L. Patterson; stepdaughter Cherylneta L. Stoutingberg; granddaughters, Peyton S. Patterson and Khamani Stoutingberg, whom he adored; brother Jeffrey Baugh (Pam); sisters-in-law, Felecia L. Patterson of Piedmont, SC, Eileen P. Cotman of Charlotte, NC, Kisha Johnson (Khalil) of Charlotte, NC; special friends, Kawin Gilliam, Chuck Long, and Dont’e, who affectionately called Eric “Rooty Pooh”; and a host of nieces, nephews great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Whiting’s Funeral Home.
