Kathleen Marie O’Dell passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026, in Norfolk at the age of 92.
She was born on March 5, 1934, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania and lived a life centered around family, strength, and the outdoors she loved so dearly.
Kathleen was truly the matriarch of her family—the one who kept everyone in line and made sure everything was always in order. She had a way of bringing people together, offering both guidance and love, and making sure no detail was ever overlooked. Her presence was steady, strong, and deeply cherished by all who knew her.
She spent much of her working life as a bookkeeper, a role that suited her organized nature and attention to detail. Outside of work, Kathleen found her greatest joy outdoors. Whether she was fishing, camping, or simply enjoying time outside, she was happiest surrounded by nature and the people she loved. She treasured time with her family and friends and could often be found laughing, sharing stories, and making lasting memories wherever she went.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Dean O’Dell, Left to cherish her loving memory are her children: Raymond Neel, Karen Winters (Tom), Lori Bailey, Amy Eisenhower (Gary), Karla Schoeni (Steve), and Mary Smith (Bob); sister Ellen Patterson. She also leaves behind grandchildren Brittany, Adam, Christopher and Tiffany and great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of strength, love, and family devotion.
A small service will be held at a later date, where Kathleen will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Carl.
