Jeffrey “Jeff” Scott Varner, aged 70, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia. Born on July 11, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, Jeff was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Jeff spent many years working in sales and communications through his dedication and commitment to his profession.
A proud alumnus of Wayne State College in Nebraska, Jeff held a bachelor’s degree and carried forth the values of hard work and perseverance instilled in him during his college years. His love for baseball was well-known, and he was an avid supporter of Nebraska Cornhusker Football.
Preceded in death by his loving parents, William and Peggy Varner, Jeff leaves behind a family who cherished him dearly. He is survived by his daughter, Calli Padilla (Evan) of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania; his son, Anders Varner (Ashton) of Louisburg, North Carolina; and his sister Diane Pilbeam (Jeff), of Fort Myers, Florida. Jeff was a devoted grandfather to four grandchildren: Adelaide, Ansen, William, and Henry.
In honor of Jeff’s memory, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
