David James Reece, 49, a lifelong resident of Hampton VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday May 2, 2025.
He was born the son of David and Charlotte Reece in Newport News, Virginia.
David was a graduate of Bethel High School and married his high school sweetheart, Alexis on May 8, 1999. They were blessed with two children, Colten and Haley Reece.
He was Scoutmaster for Troop 915 in Hampton, VA from 2014-2019 leaving a lasting legacy as a mentor, leader, and friend. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish, camp, and hike. He enjoyed working on projects with his hands at home and at American GFM, where he was a CNC machinist for 25 years. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Alexis Reece; children, Colten and Haley Reece; parents, David and Charlotte Reece; sister and brother in-law, Melissa and Ricky Thomas; nephew, Blaine Thomas; great-niece, Sarah Thomas and great-nephew, Brayden Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ALS Association or VCU neuromuscular and ALS Clinic that supported David during his journey living with ALS.
