Vivian was born on Labor Day September 7, 1942 in Norfolk, VA and went to be with her Lord on January 14, 2025.
Vivian was a resident of Norfolk since 1960 and a faithful worker at Fairmount Park Free Will Baptist Church now named Gateway Free Will Baptist Church and remained a faithful servant until she was no longer physically able. While serving at the Church she took on many jobs. She was a member of the choir, a teacher, helper, a member of the counting committee and at one time she was also President of the Steadfast Class. When called upon Vivian was always willing to help anyone in any way she could.
Vivian is survived by her sons Matthew and his wife Tracy and Daniel Bagwell both of Norfolk, VA and step-son Andrew Bagwell of Virginia Beach. Vivian leaves behind her grandchildren Justin, Kara, and Olivia and great grandchildren Mila, Leo, and Cole as well as many cousins and extended family members including Billy Cornette of Chesapeake, VA and Randall Mays and W.R. Mays of Corbin, Kentucky.
Vivian was predeceased by her loving husband and best friend of forty-six years Melvin D. Bagwell, her mother Reita Cornette, her father Joseph (Jack) Cornette and step-mother Melva Cornette as well as her loving and special grand and great-grandparents.
One of Vivian’s great joys in life was ensuring that every person she connected with knew that she cared which showed itself through her card and letter writings. If you ever received a card or letter from Vivian during her lifetime, be happy because she loved sending them and each one was unique, and if you ever received a banana nut bread consider yourself lucky as they will be missed.
The Bagwell family would like to say thank you to the Lord for His great mercy, love, and wonderful provisions and blessings for all our family.
