Billie Lee Wilkins, age 96, of Newport News, VA., went to be with the King of kings on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
Billie was born in Durham, NC on October 5, 1928. Billie was a Christian for most of her life. She loved Jesus and she loved to serve people in her Church and community. She had an active and personal relationship with the living God. When Billie prayed, she knew her Savior was listening and was therefore acquainted with answered prayer and miracles.
While she was severely physically limited for the last 4 years, she literally never complained and continued to say “thank you” for everything from a cup of coffee to lifting her into the wheelchair.
She is survived by her sons; Michael Wilkins and wife, Melinda, of Franklin, NC and Alan Wilkins and wife, Renee, of Nathalie, VA; grandchildren; Christopher Wilkins and wife, Nicole, Rebekah Wilkins Lail and husband, Zachery, Joel Wilkins and wife, Teran, Joshua Wilkins, Stephen Wilkins and wife, Erika, and Elizabeth Wilkins Chow and husband Peter; and great-grandchildren; Levi, Cora, Jesse, Avery, Joanna, Addilyn, Joshua, Annalise, Aiden, Grant, Nora, Myla, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and her sister Peggy Stevens.
Predeceased by her father and mother, Oregon Burns and Ampie Tenney, husband Jesse Leroy Wilkins Jr., who went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, and her siblings; O. B. Tenney, Hettie Talley, Hilda Andrews, Howard Tenney and Norman Tenney.
