Deborah Johnson Bradby, 71, of Providence Forge, Virginia transitioned into eternal rest, on Monday, December 9, 2024, at VCU Medical Hospital. She was born on February 10, 1953, and was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Raymond Johnson Sr., and Esther Cotman Johnson. Brothers; Vernon Hugo Johnson Sr., and Thomas Raymond Johnson Jr.
Deborah graduated in 1971, from Ruthville High School in Charles City, Virginia and attended the University of Maryland. She accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and became a member of Little Elam Baptist Church. She was a Woman of Faith and a true Believer in God, who loved listening to Gospel music and would always say “If you gonna sing it…. Sing it like you mean it!!!” Deborah enjoyed being outside planting flowers of various types, working in the garden, and shopping. She was a Homemaker and was dedicated to her family who always spoke her mind no matter what; and could still make anyone laugh with her beautiful unique personality.
Deborah married the love of her life Bervick (Pete) Bradby Jr. on September 25, 1982, and they remained together for 49 years, until her death. She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Wayne Crawley Jr. (Nicole) of Charles City, Virginia, Brian Bradby (Tukesha) of Henrico, Virginia; daughter, Esther Carter (David) of Chester, Virginia; grandchildren, Eleysia Bell, James Winfield II, and Elaynah Winfield. She also leaves behind sisters, Brenda Cousins of Richmond, Virginia and Doreen Cephas of Chester, Virginia; brothers, Lorenzo Johnson Sr. and Cardell Johnson of Charles City, Virginia, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, dedicated cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1PM Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Little Elam Baptist Church, 8840 Church Lane, Charles City, VA 23030. A viewing will be Friday, December 13, 2024, from 6PM-8PM, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140.
