Paul Waldron Andersen, longtime resident of Williamsburg, VA, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the age of 77.
He is survived by his cousin Grace Ann Keyser Whitley, his devoted friends Pierre and Frances Belisle, goddaughters Avery G. Belisle and Gabrielle A. Belisle, and loving puppies Herc and Sapphire.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Sigvald and Coralay Andersen, and his sister Cora Jane Andersen.
Paul was proud to have been born in Queens, New York, but wished it had been Brooklyn. He graduated from Old Dominion University in 1969 with a degree in Business and Economics, leading to great success as a financial investor. Paul grew up sailing and playing bridge, he was always an avid golfer, and he took up scuba diving at 52 with his cousin Grace Ann, traveling the world in quest of new adventures.
His greatest joy was his goddaughters and to be known as “Uncle Paul” to all who met him after they came into his life. Generous to a fault, Paul supported St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Wounded Warriors, Williamsburg Salvation Army, and Heritage Humane Society.
He was the quintessential strong quiet gentleman and a rock of stability to all who knew him. He was truly loved and will be sorely missed.
