Alice Dagenhardt, 80, of Virginia Beach

Alice Dagenhardt (Altmeyer Funeral Home)

Alice Dagenhardt, 80, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Madison and Virginia, her husband, Van, her son-in-law, James, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Noel.

Alice was born in Richmond, Va. and is survived by her son, Jack Harman, Daughter Michelle Richards, granddaughter Nicole Torrico (Keith), grandson Jimmy Richard (Whiley), and great grandchildren, Rye, Bjorn, Finn, and James-Kelly.

Alice and her husband had a restaurant, for years, at Cannon, for the employees and made many friends there over a sandwich and a cream soda.

Alice loved her church family and serving the Lord and served at both Virginia Beach Community Chapel and later, served with Spring Branch Community Church in a Bistro she created with her husband. She loved hospitality and bringing a smile to someone’s face with food and a cup of coffee.

Her additional passion was assisting the homeless and spent many cold nights driving around Virginia Beach with donations for a warm hotel room for the less fortunate, just to make sure they were safe for a night.

She loved any and all animals and often referred to them as her children.

Alice will be laid to rest with her beloved parents in Richmond in a private graveside ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center.
