Pamela A Wright Owen went to be with her Lord on August 10, 2024. She was 80 years old.
Born and raised in Newport News, VA, she graduated from Newport News High School in 1962. She moved to Williamsburg, VA in 1973 and worked at the College of William and Mary for over 32 years until her retirement in January, 2007.
At the time of her death, she was a member of James River Baptist Church, a member of the choir and teacher of the Rainbow Ladies Sunday School class. She previously served York River Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, served on numerous committees, participated in many ministry outreach projects and was a former Trustee and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
She is survived by her two daughters: Josie Owen(Karl Newago) and Jennifer Owen Powell (Christopher); five grandchildren: Erica Miano, Ethan Newago(Victoria), Kaleb Newago, Jocelyn Owen and Emma Grace Powell; four great-grandchildren: Christian, Kira, Jina and Alexandra; her half-sisters: Caroline Whiteed(Robby) and Joan Posey(Gary) and her half-brothers: Bernard Wright and W Gordon Wright(Rhonda).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at noon at James River Baptist Church, 4931 Centerville Rd, Williamsburg, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the James River Baptist Church Deacons’ Fund or the Peninsula Rescue Mission.
