Eleanor “LA” Tweedy passed away peacefully at her home on August 4, 2024. She was born in Holland, Virginia to the late William and Bertie Oliver on October 1, 1942. A spirited and joyful woman who spent her life embracing the simple pleasures that brought her happiness.
Eleanor, affectionately known as “LA” to her friends and family, was the beloved wife of the late Lindsey “LJ” Tweedy. Together, they shared many wonderful years on the water, where they found joy in the tranquility of fishing and the thrill of reeling in the big catch. Their boat was their sanctuary, a place where they created countless memories and cherished their time together.
LA had a keen eye for a bargain and was an avid yard sale enthusiast. She loved the thrill of the hunt, finding hidden treasures and special deals that brought a smile to her face. Her friends and family often accompanied her on these adventures, sharing in her excitement and laughter.
Eleanor’s warm heart and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a gift for making those around her feel loved and appreciated. Her home was always open, and she was quick to offer a comforting word, a delicious meal, or a place to rest.
LA was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband LJ. Left to cherish her loving memory are her children, Robbie Campbell, Theresa Lynne Tweedy, and Lee Tweedy; grandchildren, Michael and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Kylee, Neveah, Rayna and hunter; many more extended family members and friends.
She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Eleanor’s legacy of love, joy, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those she left behind.
