Palma Lynn Mitchell, also known as Pom, Mom, Sweedle, and Little Grandma, resided in Williamsburg, Virginia with her husband, Michael Mitchell.
She moved to Williamsburg to be near her daughter, Kellyn Wilson, and family including Dereck Wilson (husband), grandchildren Trent and Ashlyn Wilson, and her beloved fur-grandchild, Sherlock. Palma’s other daughter Jenna Litynski and family including John Litynski (husband) and grandchildren Brenna, McKenna, Grant, and Cody Litynski reside in Wyoming.
Palma was born and raised in North Haledon, New Jersey with parents, George and Emily Fritz (deceased), and brother, Gerald Fritz (deceased). Attending socials with the USO, she fell in love with Mike who was a cadet at West Point. They were married in the Cadet Chapel and she spent 21 years as an Army wife at assignments within the US and overseas in Germany. She was a wedding coordinator at West Point, a Red Cross volunteer, an avid bowler, animal lover, huge Army football fan, and most importantly a wife and mother as a homemaker holding down the fort.
After Mike’s retirement where they resided in Mt. Airy, MD they moved to Frankford, DE to enjoy beach and fishing time when the kids and grandchildren visited. She loved having fishing tournaments for the kids and picking out personal gifts for Christmas! This June, Palma turned 75 and celebrated her 54th wedding anniversary with the love of her life, Mike. She will be missed by all and carried in our hearts forever, and we know she will be watching over all of our adventures and cheering us on!
