Flossie “Estell” B. Jones 83 of Charles City, VA. Peacefully entered into eternal rest Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Cambridge Crossing Assisted Living in Williamsburg, Virginia. Family and caregivers surrounded her.
Flossie was born June 8,1941, to the late Roosevelt Franklin Brown Sr and Flossie Pandora Brown.
Flossie united to her beloved husband Wilbert Luther Jones of forty-seven years. Flossie loved the Lord. She accepted Christ at any early age where she joined Mt. Sterling and later became a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Charles City Virginia. A dedicated member for fifty- seven years.
Flossie was a servant of God. She served at Liberty as a Deaconess, served on the Willing Workers Ministry, Usher Board, and Missionary Ministries. Flossie loved the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, family, and her church family at Liberty Baptist Church. She attended faithfully until her health began to fail her.
Flossie loved unconditionally her family and friends. You could often find her visiting the sick and shut in, taking her friends’ places and providing for unfortunate children in school. She had a love for cooking her special dishes, she was known for making her special pound cake and homemade rolls. She loved planting flowers and watching them grow and sharing with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Roosevelt F. Sr. and Flossie J. Brown, brothers: Roosevelt F. Brown Jr., George Brown, Llewlyn Brown, Robert Brown, Frank Brown, James Brown, Vernon Brown, Howard Jones, sisters: Harriet Harris, Mamie Christian, Diane Robinson, Rebecca Christian and Alice Williams.
Flossie leaves to cherish her memories five children, Roberta Aigbokhaevbo, Willie Brown (Roxie), Vence Brown (Linda), Eric Jones (Vernice), Jacqueline Jones-Harper (William); eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, Christopher Brown and Richard Brown (Diane); one sister-in-law, Rev. Mary Brown; special friends, Emma Black, Mary Ann Adkins, Maggie Edwards, Lillie Washington, Darlene Washington; a daughter at heart, Frances Cotman; special cousin, James Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1pm Monday, June 24, 2024, at Liberty Baptist Church, 9100 Liberty Church Rd, Charles City, VA 23030. Burial to follow services in the church cemetery.
