Imelda C. Foley, age 85, passed away peacefully with family present on 17 April 2024 following a diagnosis of Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer.

She was raised a Catholic in Kansas City, MO with her five sisters. She had been married to Daniel R. Foley for 61 years. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother. Dan and Imelda raised three wonderful children: Sara. F. Burlein, Karrie E. Foley, and Daniel A. Foley. She also had two splendid grandchildren: Heather M. McCaffery and Ryan P. McCaffery.

Pre-marriage, she worked in the insurance industry and later in the Pentagon, in Air Ops at NAS Miramar and in Cubi Point, Subic Bay, Philippines, and at NAVSEASYSCOM in Crystal City, Virginia. Throughout her life, Imelda lived in Chicago and Waukegan, IL, Yokosuka and Sasebo, Japan, Glendora and San Diego, CA, Subic Bay in the Philippine Islands, Northern Virginia, and finally Fords Colony in Williamsburg, VA.

As we mourn the loss of Imelda, let us celebrate that she lived life to the fullest and recognize her love for family and friends. May her memory remind us to cherish each moment and live our lives with purpose and passion. Rest in eternal peace, dear Imelda. You will be dearly missed, but your spirit and example will forever shine bright in our hearts.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Bede’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 3 p.m.
