Nancy “MaMa Carter” Jo Boyer Carter, 82, of King William, VA passed away March 7, 2024.
She drove the school bus for King William County for over 50 years. Nancy loved to knit and made many afghans for family and friends. She always put her children and others before herself.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ervin Carter.
She is survived by three daughters, Pamela Carter, Cheryl Knight and Donna Byrd; two sons, James Carter and Michael Carter (Letha); grandchildren, Tiffany (Chay), Tamara (Tim), Courtney, Nikki, Mac, Danni, Jordan and Anthony; great-grandchildren, Alana, Aubrie, Gabby, Lily, Blake, Jaida and Ali; a sister, Betty Dillard and a brother, James Boyer; a special daughter, Natalia Fundureanu and a special granddaughter, Alicia Fortune.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 15 at Colosse Baptist Church, 23945 King William Road, West Point, VA 23181. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Friday before the service at the church. Interment will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16 in Summerfield UMC Cemetery, 4679 Carson Road, Fries, VA 24330.
