Glenwood Strickland peacefully moved to his eternal home on Friday, February 23, 2024.
Glenwood was preceded in death by his brother, W.J. Strickland and sister, Lena Alice Lunsford. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Linda Strickland; his sons, Earl Strickland (Dotty) and Robert Strickland; his grandchildren, Alek Strickland, Cameron Strickland, and Rylee Strickland; and his sister-in-law, Louise Strickland (W.J. Strickland).
He was always faithful to his family and willing to help others who were in a “tight spot.” After accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he was a member of First Friend Church for 50 years where he and Linda faithfully attended and worked and supported God’s ministries. Later in life, he and Linda attended Maranatha Baptist Church in Yorktown.
Glenwood’s life is well described in Psalms 37:23:
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. And he delights in his way.”
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Weymouth Funeral Home by Pastor Bob Monteith. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will take place in North Carolina at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to:
