Hazel Qualls Doyle,88, long time resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia was called home to be with the Lord on February 14, 2024. She was born February 8, 1936, in Perry County Tennessee to the late James Franklin and Willie Mae Barham Qualls.
On October 1, 1961, Hazel married the love of her life, James S. Doyle. Together, they shared 62 years of marriage. After raising their children, Hazel and Jim ran a successful furniture business for 20 years, retiring in 2004.
Hazel, affectionately known as Grandma Hazel, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt friend, and faithful servant of the Lord. She loved taking care of her family and spending time with her loved ones, traveling, cooking, sewing, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, watching soap operas, listening to country music, tending to her plants and attending church. She blessed everyone she met with loving-kindness and gentleness.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son Michael Doyle, sisters Mary, Marie, Emma Nell, brother LeRoy Qualls, and mother-in-law Murial.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband Jim (long time member of AA), sons Bobby Lineberry of Chesapeake, Steve Doyle of Virginia Beach, daughter Kim O’Dell of Norfolk. Hazel also left behind grandchildren Mistie, Shawn, Christie, Jennifer, Kimberly, Breigh and Timothy; great-grandchildren Shawn, Tucker, Acelynn, Jeffrey, Gianna, Destiny, Joseph, Raelin, Adalyn and Evangel; great-great grandchildren Nathaniel, Bella, and Ronin; sister-in-law Muriel; niece Jennifer (Mike); great niece Mia; great nephew Brody; countless nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Her legacy of kindness, faith, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones will forever be remembered.
A celebration of life will be held February 24, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Methodist Church 465 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23457.
