Breatha “Lee” Walton, 78, of Gloucester

Breatha “Lee” Walton, 78, of Gloucester, VA entered eternal rest with our Lord on the 30th day of November 2023.

Born at home in Burnsville, North Carolina, youngest of seven children, born to Noah and Glennis Scott. Her father was a hard working farmer and mother an amazing cook and homemaker. It was here where Lee found her love of cooking, gardening, and canning.

Lee spent her young adult life in North Carolina working as a seamstress in sewing factory. It was there where she discovered her talent for sewing. She also enjoyed clear mountain streams and fishing for rainbow trout.

Through many trials and tribulations in life, Lee found her way to Virginia where she met her husband, David M Walton. The two were married on October 10, 1972 in a small service in Maryland. She worked at the Visitors Center in Colonial Williamsburg, VA for many years and later transitioned into being a home companion aid for the elderly in need. While doing this, she also helped manage her husband’s construction business.

She is preceded in death by her children, Lewis F Johnson Jr and Lucinda R Johnson and infant granddaughter Jossalyn A West.

She is survived by husband, David, children, Susan Stansberry, Janice Moore, Nancy Begley, Martha Johnson, and Jennifer Vaughan, and twenty-five grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Vincent Funeral Home on December 4, 2023 at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Hope Memorial Baptist Church in Shacklefords, VA.
