On Thursday, May 18, 2023, Barron Clayton Cowles peacefully went home to be with the Lord. He was born on May 15, 1986, to Carole Myrick and the late Barron C. Piggott.
“Bj,” as he was affectionately called, attended New Horizons in Newport News, VA. He also loved the Lord and attended church services weekly.
Barron is survived by his mother, Carole Myrick (Kenneth); brother, Chiquan Cowles; sister-in-law, Autumn Cowles; aunt, Mary Walker; uncles, Michael Robertson and Eddie Robertson; nephews, Imere Cowles, Jacob Nichols, and Austin Nichols; nieces, Giona Cowles, Essence Cowles, and Serenity Cowles; godbrothers, Glenn Banks, Gene Banks, Fred Sparks, Andre Sparks, Darell Sparks, Thomas Ransome, Josh Burks, and Eugene Sparks; godsisters, Chalethia Tabb, Shana Tabb, Rockell Harris, and Kryshana Greenhow; great-aunts, Sherry Bervine, Rosa Cowles, Emma Cowles, Sylinda Piggott, Constance “Val” Piggott, Audrea Fauntleroy (Reginald), Carolyn Baker (Nat), Clarine Bowman, Cythina McGilvary (Hugh Jr.), Vanessa Scales (Carl Jr.), and Sharese Cowles (Donald Sr.); great-uncles, Albert Cowles, Floyd Cowles, Calvin Cowles, Lloyd Richardson, David Piggott Sr. (Karin), Keith Robertson (Sherry), James Robertson, Lawarence Robertson, Larry Robertson, and Marcel Robertson; special cousins, Mary Cowles, SeFonia Bervine, Angele Cowles, Latia Saunders, Eddie Walker, Sarah Scott, Sanoa Brown, and Charles Scott; and a host of cousins and other relatives.
A funeral service to celebrate Barron’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Interment to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Mr. Cowles may be viewed on Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Facial covering is recommended for all services.
