Shaun Fauntleroy Jr., 18, of Newport News, VA entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 18, 2022. He was affectionately known by his family and friends as “Fatman”. Fatman was born on November 20, 2003, to Shaun Fauntleroy Sr. and Katisha Griffin.
Fatman was educated in the Newport News Public School System. He worked along side his father at Uptown Towing, Shaun Sr.’s towing service.
Fatman was kind hearted with a meek and gentle spirit. He always greeted family with a hug and had a smile that would bring light to any room. If you knew Fatman, you know he loved to eat and was always ready for a meal. He loved his family and was loved by his family dearly. Fatman, a loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, and cousin was always willing to lend a helping hand. His younger sisters and brother adored him.
Shaun “Fatman” leaves to cherish his loving memory, his parents, Katisha Griffin and Shaun Fauntleroy Sr.; grandparents, Mary and Derrick Griffin, Renal Fauntleroy, and Roy Cephas (Darnella); devoted siblings, Ariana, Shaunae, Aniya, Kamani, Shanai, and Carter Fauntleroy; aunts, Crystal Fauntleroy, Eboni Bailey, and Tenisha Cephas; uncles, Derrick Griffin Jr., Ricky Fauntleroy, Martel Cephas, Roy Cephas Jr., Terrance Campbell, and Dontrelle Jimmerson; great-aunts, Carol Cephas, Patricia Glee, Edwina Moore, Robin Fauntleroy, and Ruby Fauntleroy; great-uncles, Edward Cephas, Russell Fauntleroy, Reggie Fauntleroy, and Ricky Fauntleroy; cousins, Rikkia “Kia”, Kiasia “Nunny”, Omour “Lil O”, Amorlynn “Chi-Chi”, Ricky Jr. “Rick Rick”, Tarick, Omiyah “Miya”, A’Mariah “Fat Fat”, Tyler “Tyman”, Ador’ “Tunu”, Lyrica, and Saheim; and a host of loving friends. Fatman will be missed dearly but will forever remain embedded in our memories and hearts.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Whiting’s Funeral Home, with Dr. Morris L. Randall Sr., officiating. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Interment to follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Mr. Fauntleroy may be viewed on Tuesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of his funeral service. Facial coverings are required for all services.
