Patricia Matthews Hinkle, 82, of West Point, Virginia, passed away on November 19, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Alfred Matthews, her husband, Willard M. Hinkle, and sister Jacqueline Breschel (Freddie). Patricia loved to travel the world and loved New York City, where she spent 4 years attending Columbia University in Manhattan. Graduating in 1962 with honors, she majored in journalism. Patricia was an avid Yankees fan, having met several of them including Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend. She is survived by her three children, Kevin and Susan O’Connor ( their sons Tavish and Brody O’Connor) , Marcella O’Connor (daughters Cierra and Savannah Jenkins and great granddaughter Fallon Roberts) Barry and Suzanne O’Connor (daughters Olivia and Alyssa and son Barry Thomas O’Connor Jr); as well as 2 step-daughters, Val Niederhofer (sons Justin and Andrew), Vickie and Rick Marriott (daughters Ericka and Shauna) as well as her 2 favorite nieces, Victoria and Lisa Breschel, dear friend, Beverly Conner, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. A graveside ceremony will be held at 1:30 pm on November 28, 20th in St. Theresa Cemetery.
