Adrian Fitzgerald “Jake” Durant, 55, of Williamsburg, passed away on September 30, 2022. He was born in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, Canada and moved to Pennsylvania at the age of eight. Adrian is survived by Jacob, his beloved son; Gaye, Jacob’s mother; Ingrid and Richard, his parents; Thomas and Tina, his siblings; Chloe, his therapy puppy.
He graduated from the New England Culinary Institute after discovering a passion for cuisine. After completing his degree, he lived and worked in Boston, Massachusetts and Newport Beach, California. Adrian settled in Virginia in the ‘90s to work as the Banquet Chef for the College of William and Mary. Most recently, he worked as the Executive Chef for Eurest Dining at Canon.
Adrian was a devoted father who enjoyed all things Boy Scouts with his son Jacob. In addition to being an active leader in Boy Scouts of America, he was a true animal lover, fishing enthusiast, avid camper, and outdoor cooking specialist. Adrian loved baking for friends and family and was known to make the best banana bread and cheesecake in Williamsburg.
