Wow!!! Who would have ever thought on August 10, 2022 that God would call to eternal rest our beloved Carlos Travis Cutler. His life began on February 28, 1980, in Newport News, Virginia, the only child born to William E. Davis, Jr. and Barbara A. Cutler. His grandmother Dorothy Davis, raised him from a toddler to adulthood.
Carlos attended York County Public Schools. He participated in the JROTC and graduated from York High School in 1998. He furthered his education by attending St. Leo College, graduating with dual degrees; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology and Human Resources.
Being reared in a Christian home, Carlos accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Grafton Baptist Church Harris Grove. He was a faithful and dedicated member of his church, attending Sunday school, serving as a Junior Usher, and played the drums for the youth church and sometimes for the B.W. Morrison Gospel Chorus. He also assisted with the Audio Video Ministry and was a Door Keeper with his friend Mr. Bob Sedgwick.
Carlos was employed with the Richmond Fire Department in the City of Richmond, VA, since September 2021. His position was GIS and Project Manager-IT Support. He was previously employed with ComTek/GMSI at Fort Eustis, VA as an Administrator and provided End User support for government IT business operations for more than twenty years. His work included central business and IT operations for two military bases as well as working with military personnel worldwide.
He was friendly, kind, thoughtful, respectful of others, and full of life. Carlos will truly be missed.
