Gertrude “Trudy’ Helena Willis, 94, died on Monday, July 11, 2022 at The Hidenwood Retirement Community. Trudy was born in Bamberg, Germany and had made her home in Newport News for over 60 years. She worked at Binn’s of Williamsburg Clothing Store and was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church. Trudy enjoyed walking the neighborhood, socializing and shopping in Williamsburg and at the mall.
Trudy was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Albert C. “Bill” Willis. She is survived by her sons, Donald Willis (Beth) and Jack Willis (Ann); 3 grandchildren, Susanne Patterson (Ryan) and Kevin and Cory Willis and 3 great-grandchildren, C.J., Ben and Ian Patterson.
A Graveside Service at Hampton Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.
