Everett Leon Carter, 83, of West Point, VA passed away July 2, 2022. Leon was an avid fisherman, boater, and golfer. He retired from Chesapeake Corporation after 22 years of service. He had a keen sense of humor and always loved sharing good jokes. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Alice Carter, a sister, Marie Taylor and a brother, Wayne Carter.
Leon is survived by his wife of 63 years, Vivian Carter; a daughter, Kim Brizendine (Curtis) and a son, Everett Carter (Johnna); five grandchildren, Lindsey Brizendine (Becky), Adam Brizendine (Kris), Lauren Cobb (Jason), Austen Carter and Kristen Burnette (Tyler); five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to recognize a very devoted group of friends, neighbors, and caregivers who were always there during times of need. They would also like to recognize his Pastor, Reverend Chang Ho Yang and his wife Soyoung Yang, for their spiritual guidance.
Leon’s wishes were for the family to hold a private celebration of his life.
