William David Butler (Vincent Funeral Home)

William David Butler, 83, of Henrico, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 5th, 2022, surrounded with love from his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Jean Ann; and his children, Sandy Edwards (Holly), Steve Jenkins (Jennifer), Joe Jenkins (Joy), Mike Butler (Andi), Robyn Allen (Acie); and lest we forget his forever faithful 4-legged child, Lucy girl. Further left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Logan Edwards (Jessica), Ashley Beasley (Eric), Tyler Jenkins (Hailey), Bailee Jenkins, Joseph Jenkins (Rachel), Ashley Butler, Matthew Allen (Elizabeth) and Carter Allen (Kinsey); his great grandson, Braden; and many other nieces and nephews and friends that he thought of like family.

After serving in the Army, William became a General Contractor, owning his own business for 50+ years. He liked to stay busy and even in his 70s he had a full-time job at Lowe’s for ten years, although he probably spent more time talking to folks than working. He never met a stranger, would always try to help anyone, and had the brightest smile that didn’t pale in comparison to his yellow suspenders.

His family’s hearts are broken, but they have so many fond memories that they will forever cherish.

Visitation will be held 10 to 11 AM, Thursday, June 9th at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140 with a memorial service beginning at 11 AM. Interment will be 1 PM, the same day at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA 23238.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or your local animal shelter.
