Robert E. “Bobby” Wynn, 85, of Providence Forge, VA passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 8, 2022.
Bobby was a fun loving man who loved the outdoors, preferably in the woods versus the beach! He loved to hunt and that was evident as he was the President of the Running Deer Hunt Club for many years. When he wasn’t hunting, you could find him in the garden working rows and rows of vegetables for his family and community. Not only could he grow the food, he also enjoyed cooking up his special pot of pinto beans and sausage.
Bobby was also an avid NASCAR fan and would always prefer the great FORD machine over anything else. Hearing those engines rev, and having some good bluegrass on the stereo meant summer was right around the corner. The only thing that Bobby would pause for towards the end of the summer was the POW WOW held at the Chickahominy Tribal Center. He and his family worked and shared in the culture with proud hearts. Bobby retired after forty plus years from Stone Container.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Reba Wynn; his parents, James and Edna Wynn, and his sister, Hazel Adkins.
Bobby is survived by his children, Sandra Adkins (Wayne), Cecelia Bradby (Marlon), Keith Wynn (Marilyn) and Doyle Wynn (Sharon); three grandchildren, Hope, Marla and Danielle; a special great grandchild, Kaya; his siblings, Leroy Wynn, Lucille Bradby (Herman), Bertha Cannada, Jesse Wynn (Zelma), Jackie Adkins (Don), Earl Wynn (Jane) and Loretta Adkins (Stanley), along with a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held 11AM Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Samaria Baptist Church Cemetery, Providence Forge, VA. A viewing will be held from 5PM – 7PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Vincent Funeral Home.
