Helen Kay Lynch, 70, of Lanexa, Va. went to be with her Lord and savior on May 12, 2022.
Helen grew up in North Dakota, but has always enjoyed new adventures. At the age of 18 she got in her Mustang and drove to California. Helen continued to spread her wings and ended up moving several times across the United States. She would ultimately land in Virginia, eventually settling into retirement alongside her husband, Randy. Prior to retirement Helen worked as a hospital nurse and provided home health care to children with disabilities. She also managed a company providing in-home supports to both adults and children with disabilities. Helen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a love for all animals, particularly dogs.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eleanor Gutschmidt; a sister, Suzy Levitt; and her first husband, David Joy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Randall “Randy” Lynch; her daughter, Selena Layden (Jonathan); a brother, Art Gutschmidt (Marilyn); a sister, Joan Smith (Jim); 10 grandchildren, Benjamin, Jacob, Preston, Ireland, Brayden, McKenzie, Ryan, Reagan, Ryan, Roland; and three step-daughters, Amber Oliver (Steven), Tiffany Elkins (Ricky), Sara Stainback (Nick).
A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, May 19 at Tsena Commocko Baptist Church; 2401 Tsena Rd. Providence Forge, Va. 23140, with burial immediately following at Washington Memorial Park.
